Board AI program
- 2 days
- For Boards
- On site
A two-day program in which the board builds one understanding of AI and one way to oversee it. It combines three modules, AI risks & opportunities, AI governance framework and Overseeing AI strategy, and closes with the board's AI agenda for the year ahead and a 90-day plan.
Is this for you?
Supervisory and non-executive boards that want the complete picture without a three-day program, for example before a strategy day or a major AI investment. It gives new and experienced directors one shared starting point.
5 to 12 directors. The CEO and CFO can join selected parts.
None required. Boards that already completed AI risks & opportunities or AI governance framework can build on it.
Core objectives
- 01Understand where AI creates risk and opportunity for the company
- 02Set up how the board oversees AI: roles, reporting and evidence
- 03Learn to challenge and fund an AI strategy in stages
- 04Agree the board's AI agenda for the year ahead
Boards that take AI seriously need three things: a shared understanding of what AI means for the company, a clear way to oversee it, and the ability to judge management's strategy.
Covering them together saves time and makes the parts reinforce each other.
How it works
- 01 AI risks and opportunities
- 02 The AI governance framework
- 03 Overseeing AI strategy
- 04 The board's AI agenda and a 90-day plan
The program moves through three parts: AI risks and opportunities, the AI governance framework, and overseeing AI strategy. It closes with a session on the board's own AI agenda and a 90-day plan. The two days can run back to back or as two dates within four weeks. Preparation is combined in one pre-read and interviews with the CEO, the CFO and the chair.
Deliverables
- A briefing memo and ten questions for management
- A one-page AI governance framework and a quarterly report template
- A review checklist, a decision calendar and a dashboard specification
- A 12-month board AI agenda and a 90-day plan
